Prep and Waste Management
Every preparation used and every bag of waste recorded, reported and ready for Digital Waste Tracking.
Technicians record the pesticides, baits and other preparations they use on every visit, with quantities and batch numbers, along with any waste they remove from site. ServiceTracker turns this into usage reports by product, site, customer and technician.
The same records help you prepare for Defra’s Digital Waste Tracking (DWT) service, so your waste data is captured once, on site, rather than pieced together from paper notes.
What is Digital Waste Tracking (DWT)?
Digital Waste Tracking is a new UK-wide service from Defra to create a digital record of waste movements and help tackle waste crime. It is being introduced in phases:
- From 1 October 2026, permitted waste receiving sites in England and Wales must record the waste they receive.
- From January 2027, waste receiving sites in Scotland and Northern Ireland follow.
- From October 2027, the service is due to become mandatory for waste carriers, brokers and dealers.
Many pest control companies carry waste from customer sites, such as rodent carcasses, used bait and contaminated materials, so it pays to get your waste records digital now. Check the latest guidance on GOV.UK for what applies to your business.
